what if i told you that you could be making over 7 million dollars a year… playing video games?! you might think i’m crazy, but mega youtube star, pewdiepie, has done just that. FELIX KJELLBERG, 24-year-old Swedish youtuber, rose to fame by recording his reactions while playing various video games and posting them on the internet. in 2013, pewdiepie had 27 million subscribers and was making $4 million a year playing video games. in 2014, that number rose to approximately $7.4 million with a whopping 37.7 million subscribers (or as he calls them “bros”)… that’s more than taylor swift and ellen degeneres combined! though pewdiepie favors horror games, his channel also features platformers, first person shooters, and of course, the universally popular Minecraft.

pewdiepie isn’t the only youtuber turning his love of video games into a career. others have also gained fame and fortune by posting their own gaming videos on the internet. vanossgaming, aka EVAN FONG, rose to fame with his comical commentary and the sometimes unorthodox gameplay with his friends. his favorite genre is horror, but he is also well known for his grand theft auto videos. another popular gamer is ADAM DAHLBERG on his youtube channel skydoesminecraft. DAHLBERG is famous for calling gold “butter” and hating the minecraft squids. his channel is specifically minecraft focused, but with minecraft related content being the second most searched topic on the platform, he does pretty well for himself.
