game apps we love

there’s nothing like passing a little free time (or class time) by playing some fun and addicting apps. here’s our top three game apps of the moment! what games are you addicted to right now?

CANDY CRUSH SAGA

candy crush saga was originally released as a facebook game in april 2012.  after a few short months of massive popularity,  candy crush became available on apple, android and windows devices.  

the goal of the game is to match at least 3 candies in a row either vertically or horizontally to rack up points and make it to the next level.  candy crush currently has over 1,000 levels with new levels added regularly.  higher levels become more difficult and add more features such as wrapped candies that act like bombs.

FRUIT NINJA

fruit ninja was original released in early 2010 for apple devices by an australian game developing company called halfbrick studios. by late 2010, the game was released for android and windows phones.  an xbox kinect version of the game was even released in 2011. by 2012 it was estimated that fruit ninja was on approximately one third of all u.s. iphones.

in the game, the player must slice fruit that is thrown into the air by swiping the device’s touch screen with their finger(s). fruit ninja features multiple gameplay modes, leaderboards and multiplayer.

CLASH OF CLANS

clash of clans was originally released for apple devices in 2012 with the android release the following year in 2013.  the game was published by a finland based video game company called supercell.

clash of clans is an online multiplayer game in which players build a community, train troops, and attack other players to earn gold and elixir. dark elixir can also be earned, which can be used to build defenses that protect the player from other players’ attacks, and to train and upgrade troops.
